Recarfix instruction video

In our instructional video, we explain the 7 simple steps of how to repair wheel damage using the Recarfix Patch. Of course, we’ve also written out the instructions for you below.

1. Locate the damage

Before you start, it’s good to determine the extent of the damage. If the scratch is a bit coarser, you may need to sand it down a bit. Make sure you have all materials available in advance. Consider: Rim cleaner, degreaser, and a hairdryer for applying the patch. The best result is achieved when applying at a temperature between 15°C and max. 25°C.

2. Clean the rim

For the best result, you should clean & dry the rim where you intend to apply the Recarfix patch. If the damage has sharp areas, use 120 grit sandpaper to ensure the surface is smooth again. Degrease the rim well after washing and/or sanding so that the patch can adhere properly.

3. Apply the Recarfix patch.

Carefully remove the Recarfix patch from the backing and apply to the rim pressing gently with one finger, following with the other to ensure there are no air pockets beneath the patch. Be careful not to touch the adhesive surface for too long as this may affect adhesion. For the best results, we recommend that you carefully watch the application video.

4. Allow the patch to adhere (properly)

After application you can immediately use your car again. However, wait 48 hours before washing it so that the patch can adhere properly. If it’s cold outside, we recommend keeping your Recarfix indoors overnight and heating the damaged wheel surface with a hairdryer for 20 seconds before application. You should also heat the Recarfix for up to 20 seconds after it has been applied before bending it around the rim.
